Kim Sung-han, a professor of Korea University Graduate School of International Studies, who is an acting president of Ilmin International Relations Institute, was named for the civilian member of The Commission for National Security Review on May 9th, 2010.
The Commission for National Security Review, leading by Lee Sang-woo, is the presidential body and it is expected to conduct proceedings for about two or three months to prepare measures for ¢ºexternal security threats, ¢ºnational security position, ¢ºcapability of information, ¢ºalliance between Korea and the United States and relations in the region of Northeast Asia, and ¢ºawareness of national security. The ad hoc panel consists of five civilians and ten others with military backgrounds. As civilian members, Lee Sang-woo, a Chairman and chairs of Defense Reform Committee, Hyun Hong-choo, a former ambassador to the United States, Hong Doo-seung, a professor of Seoul National University, and Kim Dong-sung, a professor of Chungang University, including an acting president Kim Sung-han.
